SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Qualified)

Connex Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary/secondary school in Great Barr. This is a full-time position supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
About the Role:
You will work to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and reach their full potential in a mainstream setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with MLD, ASD, and ADHD
- Support classroom engagement and behaviour management strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (essential)
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly MLD, ASD, or ADHD
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
- Ability to commit to a full-time role
