About the Role
Connex Education is working with a friendly and welcoming primary school in Derby (DE1) to recruit a Teaching Assistant, starting ASAP. The school is focused on providing strong support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those requiring personal care. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a solid SEND or care background to help support the children’s individual needs and contribute to their growth and development.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to provide support to children in the classroom, focusing on creating an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
Assignment Details
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Type: Regular relief cover (full-time or part-time options)
• Responsibilities: Supporting children with SEN, personal care, 1:1 and small group work

Person Specification
• Experience working with children aged 4–11 years
• Strong background in SEND or care and experience with personal care
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to process a new one)
