About the role
Connex Education is working with a large mainstream primary school in the Middlesbrough TS3 area who are looking for a Reception Teaching Assistant, working with a number of children in reception who have special educational needs. Start date is 3rd March and is expected to needed until the end of the academic year.
About the school
The primary school is based in Middlesbrough and is a part of a trust who focuses on dedicating outsanding environments and also supports through their specialist provision and dedication to supporting SEND. They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will be a key person and SEND support for a number of pupils with additional needs in EYFS and KS1. You will be involved with education health care plans and liaising with the schools special needs co-ordinator to ensure pupils needs are met. Working within this school you will be met by a welcoming team of SEND Teachers and Teaching Assistants working within the schools specialist area. We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is happy working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
Assignment Details
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, the right candidate MUST be able to work form 8:30am – 3:30pm. Experience working with Special Educational Needs is essential for this role. The school may be able to accomodate part time hours, therefore if you can work 3 days per week or 5 mornings per week you are still encouraged to apply.

Person Specification
- Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant – desirable
- Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting
- Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Good Knowledge of different types of Special Needs
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
