Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Full-Time, Long-Term
Location: Mainstream Secondary School (Year 9) Handsworth
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 9 student with epilepsy in a mainstream secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to making a real difference in a young person’s education and well-being.

The Role:

  • Providing tailored support to a Year 9 student with epilepsy
  • Assisting in lessons to ensure full engagement and participation
  • Monitoring the student’s well-being and responding effectively to any medical needs
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in learning
  • Liaising with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support

The Ideal Candidate:

✅ Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a school setting)
✅ Understanding of epilepsy and how to provide appropriate support (training can be provided)
✅ Caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning and well-being
✅ Strong communication skills and the ability to build a positive rapport with the student
✅ First aid training (or willingness to undertake training)

This is a full-time, long-term role, offering a rewarding opportunity to support a student in reaching their full potential.
