SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Pay Rate: £462.50 – £500.00 P/W
Connex Education are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs within a primary school in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Brief About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and SEMH needs. You will support learning on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping pupils to engage in lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with SEN throughout the school day
- Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Assisting with classroom management
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and parents where required
- Promoting safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Role Requirements
- Experience working in an SEN school
- Commitment to promoting equality and diversity
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection guidelines
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education
