Connex Education is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Handsworth, Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping pupils build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
About the role
You will work alongside teachers and the SEN team to support pupils with a range of needs, including:

Autism (ASC)
-
ADHD
-
Speech and Language difficulties
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Your role will involve providing one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils engage in lessons, develop key skills, and overcome barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities

Supporting pupils with SEN throughout the school day

Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Assisting with classroom routines and learning activities
-
Working closely with staff and families where required
-
Promoting safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Requirements

Experience supporting children with SEN

A commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing

Understanding of safeguarding procedures

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
