Teaching Assistant – 1:1 & Small Group Support

Connex Education is recruiting on behalf of Killisick Primary School for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 1/2 from September.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural needs

Deliver small group interventions and classroom support

Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and confidence

Support pupils to access learning and manage their emotions throughout the school day

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective support strategies
The successful candidate should be comfortable supporting a child who can occasionally display challenging behaviours, including shouting and swearing, and be able to respond with patience, consistency and confidence.
The Ideal Candidate

Has previous experience working 1:1 with pupils

Has strong behaviour management skills

Can remain calm and resilient in challenging situations

Builds positive relationships with children

Team Teach training is desirable but not essential

Is committed to helping every child succeed
