The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting teachers and helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment.
Depending on your placement, you will:
• Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions where required
• Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement with learning
• Assist with classroom organisation and the preparation of learning resources
• Support positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
• Previous experience working with children or young people within a school, childcare or similar setting is highly desirable
• A positive, patient and proactive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
• The Right to Work in the UK

Priority will be given to candidates with previous experience working with children or young people within education, childcare, youth work or similar settings. Applicants must also have the Right to Work in the UK and be able to satisfy all safer recruitment and safeguarding checks.
