About the Role

Are you a qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in education?

Connex Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Stockport who are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their teams. Whether your passion lies in EYFS, KS1 or KS2, we have full-time opportunities available where you can make a real difference to pupils’ learning and development.

This is an excellent opportunity to join schools that value their support staff, with roles offering the potential to become permanent from September 2026.

Assignment Details

You’ll be supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and helping pupils to reach their full potential through:

• Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm).
• General classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups where required.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and creating an engaging learning environment.
• Temporary positions with the opportunity to secure a permanent role from September 2026.

Person Specification

We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates who have:

Essential

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
• A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education.
• Experience working within a UK primary school (placements considered).

You’ll also have:

• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and parents.
• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Good classroom awareness and behaviour management skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• A commitment to your own professional development.
