About the role
Connex Education are seeking passionate graduates who are looking to work in education, perhaps you are an aspiring teacher and want to see what the job is like, or perhaps you are looking for work till you find your dream graduate role. The role will involve mananging classes in the absence of a teacher in secondary schools under the role of a cover supervisor, the work is in Middlesbrough and surrouding areas. With the flexibility to work 3-5 days a week you can pick which days you want to work. There is a very high demand for cover supervisors and if you have a specialism in English, Humanities, Science or Maths we would love to speak with you ! All degrees are accepted but core subjects are in demand.

You will be working in various schools in and around Middlesbrough and surrounding areas with day to day, short term and long term roles available.
Assignment Details
Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to manage classrooms and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of regular teachers. Key duties include:
- Supervising and managing classes across various subjects
- Implementing lesson plans left by absent teachers
- Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
- Managing student behavior and promoting engagement
- Providing feedback on student progress and any issues that arise
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to cover lessons

Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject
- Strong interest in education and working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
- Adaptability and quick learning skills to cover various subjects
- Confidence in public speaking and engaging with groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- No formal teaching qualification required – full training provided
