Role: SEMH/SEN Tutor
Location: Face-to-Face, in Home, Walsall
Hours: Monday – Friday
Contract: Term Time
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN/SEMH Tutor to join us at Connex Education to support a pupil with complex SEN/SEMH needs. This role offers a challenging but rewarding environment where you will play a vital part in ensuring the pupil has the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions to students with SEMH SEN needs, ensuring engagement and progress in their learning.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Support students’ social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
- Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Essential
- Qualified teacher status
- Experience of teaching pupils with severe learning difficulties and/or Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
- A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs
- Ability to work with parents as partners
- Personal resilience
Desirable
- Recognised qualification in the education of pupils with SEN
- Experience of Alternate Provision
- Experience of working with people who have experienced trauma
- Experience of working with pupils in Key Stages 3 4 & 5
- Evidence of teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Evidence of training specifically relating to pupils with PMLD
- Experience of ‘intensive interaction’ techniques
- Team Teach
