About the role

Connex Education is working with a mainstream primary school in the Skelton area who are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work full-time, working with a child with SEND needs on a 1:1 basis.

About the school

The primary School is based in Skelton and focuses on creating a nurturing and positive environment where every child can grow and excel. They are looking for a  SEND Teaching Assistant who will be a key person and 1:1 support for a number of pupils with additional needs. You will be involved with education health care plans and liaising with the schools special needs co-ordinator to ensure pupils needs are met. Working within this school you will be met by a welcoming team of SEND Teachers and Teaching Assistants working within the schools specialist area. We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is happy working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. 

Assignment Details

This is  a full time role working Monday to Friday with the potential to become long term. The right candidate MUST be able to work form 8:30am – 3:30pm. Experience is essential for this role.

Person Specification

  • Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant – desirable 
  • Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting
  • Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Good Knowledge of different types of Special Needs 
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
