Cover Supervisor
Location: Derby (DE22)
Pay: £400 – £600 per week (dependent on experience)
Connex Education Solutions, in partnership with the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to provide support at schools across Derby. One of the main schools you will be supporting is an oversubscribed and thriving Catholic academy in Derby, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
This is a flexible role with an immediate start (subject to registration), offering a great opportunity to make a difference in a vibrant school environment.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
– Creating a safe, engaging, and organised classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
– Supporting students with pre-set work and encouraging them to remain focused and productive.
– Providing clear guidance and assistance to help students achieve their learning goals.
– Managing behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies and ethos.
– Working flexibly across a range of subjects and curriculum areas.
– Reporting back to absent teachers on lesson outcomes and student engagement.
This role is ideal for those seeking hands-on experience in education or a flexible position within a supportive school community.

Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who:
– Have experience in a classroom or educational setting, or hold an undergraduate degree (desirable).
– Possess strong classroom management and communication skills.
– Are comfortable working with a range of behaviours and abilities.
– Hold a current DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one.
– Are supportive of the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
– Have access to their own transport (desirable).
