English Teacher 

£750 per week- depending on experience 

Start date –ASAP– Long term placement covering materntity until July 2025 

About the role

Connex Education is working with an SEMH Alternative School in Bolton who are recruiting for an English teacher to work full- time within an alternative educational setting delivering core subjects.

The school itself caters for pupils with a range of needs including
SEMH, ADHD, Attachment and Behaviour issues as well as a diverse backgrounds. As a SEND Teacher, you will be delivering English lessons to a year a 11 class.

All staff at the school aim to provide pupils with a nurturing and engaging learning environment. They are looking for a Teacher who is hard working, resilient and who wants to make a difference to pupils’ education by supporting them.

Assignment Details

  • Plan, implement lessons that cater to the specific needs of students with SEND.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic and behavioral development.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special support staff, and external professionals to promote a unified approach to education.

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH conditions is desirebale but not required.
  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status certificate.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one. 
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
  • Good organization and multitasking abilities.
