The pastoral LSA role is based in a well-established main stream secondary school in Durham. The school provide first class education to their students and have an excellent faculty who create a culture of success.
Assignment Details
As a Pastoral LSA within a secondary school, your key responsibilities will include, Providing in-class support to teachers, working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and ensure engagement. Managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment as well as contributing to progress monitoring. Excellent communication skills, curriculum knowledge, and a passion for supporting student learning and development are essential for succeeding in this flexible, supply-based teaching assistant role.

Person Specification
- Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- Level 2/3 Teaching assistant qualification
- Must be 21 or over
- Must have UK school based experience
- Knowledge of child development and learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
- Good organization and multitasking abilities
