Connex are working with a Primary SEN School who are looking for a full-time 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant.
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant at our fantastic SEN primary school in Wirral, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a KS1 with ASD and ADHD. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored assistance and guidance to help the pupil navigate their educational journey successfully. Key aspects of the role include:
- Building a supportive and trusting relationship with the pupil to foster their academic and social development.
- Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively, while maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and classroom teachers to create and implement individual EHC plan that meet the specific needs.
The school itself is purpose built and caters for EYFS-KS2 pupils with a range of complex needs including ADHD, ASD, GDD and PMLD.

Requirements: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Previous experience working with students with ASD and ADHD, either in a Educational setting or residential.
- Excellent understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviors and supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in the face of complex situations.
