Begin your teaching journey with us!
If you have recently gained QTS or you are currently on your teacher training course, then we would love to hear from you!
Our ECT Pool is open to all secondary and primary early career teachers who are looking to secure their first permanent ECT post.
It is never too early to join! Schools start recruiting ECTs from the start of the academic year. So, join our ECT Pool and get your search for that perfect ECT position started now.
What to expect when you're in our ECT pool
Working with the Connex Education Early Career Teachers you will have a dedicated consultant, who will look after you while finding your perfect first teaching post and be someone you can call on when you need them.
Once you’re in our ECT Pool they’ll be your primary point of contact, understanding your needs and working on your behalf to find the perfect ECT role for you.
We’ll introduce you to schools that may not necessarily advertise the roles they’re recruiting for.
Recruitment of teachers can be a fast-paced process, therefore a vacancy isn’t always advertised through traditional methods.
We have access to a range of school opportunities that are exclusive to ECTs in our ECT Pool.
We offer guidance on CV writing, help with preparing the perfect personal statement, interview advice and general support throughout the entire recruitment process.
FREE CPD! As one of our ECTs you will receive access to our CPD courses for free.
This is offered through our sister company (Connex Education Academy).
Courses include:
- Mental Health Awareness
- Understanding Autism
- SEND Code of Practice
- Safeguarding, Child Protection, & Prevent Programme
- Sensory Processing, Behaviour and the Primary Classroom
Plus, many more, as well as new courses coming soon!
When you join our ECT Pool, we’ll automatically set you up with an account for Thirsty Scholars Partnership to give you unlimited access to the ECT courses on that platform. Your access will continue unfettered throughout your ECT placement too.
When we find a school that has a suitable role and they’d like to interview you, we will arrange the interview for you, either in-school or a video conferencing service like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
We’ll make sure you know what to expect, run through some typical interview questions and make sure you’re thoroughly prepared for the interview.
We’ll share further insights into the school itself and make ensure you’re in the best position possible to succeed at interview stage.
We strive to ensure a perfect match between our ECTs and their individual requirements, and the personal requirements from the schools we work with.
When it’s time to start your placement, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared and know what to expect. Your access to the free CPD training will continue throughout your placement and your dedicated consultant will be in touch too, to make sure everything’s ok with you and your new role.
Don’t worry – we won’t just abandon you once your ECT placement starts!
We’re in this for the long term and will be with you every step of the way.
Your dedicated consultant will be in touch regularly. You’ll have continued access to the free CPD training. And you’ll also retain access to this ECT Pool and all the excellent resources contained within it. This includes access to a mentor to support you in your future career.
Your career is important to us. As part of The Classroom Partnership collective, we provide services throughout the education lifecycle. This means after your ECT placement finishes, we can offer additional services such as supply opportunities throughout England and Wales, international teaching opportunities, and ongoing CPD to ensure you get the most out of your career.
Your dedicated consultant will be sure to speak to you about what your next steps could involve, and will advise you on where we can help you too.
