We’re in search of an experienced SEN teacher/tutor to provide home-based tutoring for students unable to attend school in Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire. These students require assistance primarily in Maths, English, and Science, and they need a compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient educator to guide them. To thrive in this role, having QTS or a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with SEN students is crucial.
The students we work with often have diverse learning needs, so experience in areas such as ASD/ASC, SEMH, Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, and Trauma would be advantageous.
Role:
You’ll deliver tailored tuition sessions to students of varying abilities who may have disengaged with education or are struggling to meet academic expectations. Your expertise will be instrumental in boosting their confidence and subject knowledge.
– Flexible hours, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week
– 1:1 sessions held at the student’s home, with parental or carer supervision
– Opportunity to support multiple students if you desire more than 10 hours per week
Responsibilities:
– Develop engaging lesson plans to effectively teach and inspire students.
– Provide regular reports on session engagement and progress.
– Collaborate with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure student support.
– Participate in relevant training and adhere to safeguarding principles.
Experience in supporting SEN/SEMH students is a prerequisite for this role. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
